WEST HIGH ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIPS FOR DESCENDANTS

The West End High School Alumni Scholarship for direct descendants of West High alumni is now The Julie Weiland Waters West High Alumni Scholarship, named in memory of Julie, who was instrumental in founding the Alumni Association.  Beginning in 2022, the scholarships will benefit two recipients who will each receive $2,500.  This will continue for five years until the total Scholarship amount has been awarded.

The $1,000 Fab Four Alumni Scholarship given by Ronnie Osborn is awarded  to a descendant of a West High athlete of cheerleader.

The winners of the 2021-2022 scholarships are:

Thomas Patton Giles, grandson of Regina Jones Giles, Class of 64 - the Julie Weiland Waters Alumni Scholarship

Austin Cole Lockridge, grandson of Lynn Tuttle, Class of 63 - the Fab Four Alumni Scholarship.

We congratulate both of these deserving students.

There have been several donations to the Scholarship in memory of West End High School alumni including Buddy Francis (56), Tommy McAdams (56) Jerry Averbuch (56), John "Butch" Stephens (55), Wyatt Allen (56), in memory of Hailey Turner, granddaughter of alumnus Fred Turner (53).  Also, a contribution has been received from David Ogden (62). John Wade (54) has sent a contribution in memory of Julie Weiland Waters (60).
